Thathri, Mar 23 (KNO): A Government Higher Secondary School in Malothi village of Bhalla Tehsil in Doda district was allegedly burnt down by some miscreants during the wee hours of Tuesday morning, officials said, adding that investigation has been initiated in this regard.
A police official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they received a call from locals at around 01:20 AM about the incident following which a team rushed to the spot. The fire was brough under control after hectic efforts by locals, police, VDC members, he said.
“Day before yesterday, a theft incident was reported from the same school and a team of FSL took some fingerprints from the school. It is supposed that the thieves burnt down the School to erase the evidence but the investigation has been started and we will find out the facts behind the incident,” he added.
Principal Higher Secondary School Malothi said, “All the old record in the School was damaged in the blaze while some record of 11th and 12th class student is safe.”
Police Post Officer Bhalla Muhammad Shafi said that the investigation has been initiated and anybody found involved in the incident will be dealt with strictly—(KNO)
